History
Sawfish Media was first created in late 2006, with the help of Pop Art, Inc. during a ASE internship. The orginal website was first created to be primarily a blog, one where I could post my experiences of the internship, after the internship I added other options, such as flickr pictures, maps, games, but only that I could submit. When I started creating a redesign of the site, I decided that I should open up submission to anyone (with an account). Another thing that I wanted to accoplish is to make much of the content viewable and open to response for people who didn't have accounts. Because, whenever I have looked for tutorials online I've noticed that some you need to have an account just to be able to view the content. So I started from scratch (making it from ASP.Net 3.5, C#, HTML, AJAX and CSS) , just like with the other website, but this time working without much instruction. My last website had little CSS, so for this one I used almost purely CSS. Everything on the site was coded from scratch without the help of pre-built applications. As you see I also changed the logo so that it would be smaller and take up less space.
Internship
The Internship at Pop Art, Inc. was part of a program called ASE(Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering). My Mentor at Pop Art was Andrew Hay, who was amazing at web development. I started out knowing a bit of HTML, maybe a bit of Javascript but no C#, ASP.Net or CSS. Andrew introduced me to all of them and also helped me improve my knowledge of HTML and Javascript.
